Children

Our big aim in all we do in the children’s work at St David’s Church is “to make young disciples who make disciples”.

We do this through teaching God’s word and in partnership with parents.

“We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.” Psalm 78:4

Sunday Club

Sunday Club meets every Sunday at the 9.30 service. The children begin in Church and then go over to the St David’s Centre after 15 minutes to find their groups.

We currently have 3 groups in Sunday Club

  • Creche - Age 0-3 in Creche Room
  • Scramblers - Age 3 - 5 (Pre-school-Reception) in Meeting Room
  • Climbers and Explorers - Age 5 -11 (Yr1-Yr6) in Main Hall

There is also a Creche area in the church building for parents with very young children to get settled with some toys and books.

The children’s groups teach the Bible in an age appropriate way with games and craft activities. There are also times to pray, learn memory verses and sing together.

All groups are supervised by a lovely team of leaders who are DBS checked.

The sessions finish at the same time as the main service, at which point the Scramblers, Climbers and Explorers groups walk back to the church building and re-join their parents there. We ask that parents of babies and little ones in the creche come and collect them from the church centre as soon as possible after the service.

We occasionally have All-Age services when the whole church family gathers altogether.
