Church & Centre

There has been a church on the site where St. David's now stands for about 800 years, although it has been rebuilt twice, and had many alterations.  The most recent changes came as a result of PLAN 2000, and involved the re-siting of the rood screen, the building of a new dais at the front, and the creation of a new coffee-bar on one side of the church at the back, and a new bookstall on the other.

St. David's Centre is the former Moreton School, founded in 1884.  The building then  became the Youth Centre, before being sold to St. David's Church in 2002.   Following the floods of July 2007, as a result of which the Centre suffered extensive damage, the building was redesigned, and refurbished, opening at the end of October 2008.  It is now widely used by church and community, and its facilities can be hired  for all sorts of gatherings.
